“When You Don’t Go Within, You Go Without”~ Yogi Bajan
This quote really resonates with me. It’s been almost 4 years since I started delving into the world of meditation. I’m so thankful this has become a part of my daily life and spiritual practice. The word meditation didn’t mean a whole lot to me over four years ago and to be honest, I think I was a bit ignorant as to what it meant. I started on my meditation journey, listening to guided meditation’s and later was guided to learn the Transcendental Meditation Technique. My life has never been the same since! The benefits have been truly such an amazing experience and a true gift. I can tell you this; I suffered from extreme anxiety attacks, insomnia and slight depression at times for years and even had to take prescription medication to try to remedy my sleep and anxiety issues. All of which have miraculously become a thing of the past, since I started meditating! I felt more peaceful, calm and focused as well. Guided meditation’s are a great way to start into the world of meditation and anyone can do this. Transcendental meditation is taught only by certified teachers and has been taught to countless people from all over the world. TM as it is called is practiced by so many people including Oprah Winfrey, Jerry Seinfeld, Howard Stern, Gabby Bernstein, Ellen DeGeneres, Russell Simmons, David Lynch and even the Beatles once learned this easy technique back in the early 1960s. The one thing I can share with you is that it will change your life in so many amazing ways. If you don’t have the time, make the time! You and you’re loved ones deserve to learn this and so does the world. We all deserve to feel and enjoy the benefits of meditation and when you don’t go within, you go without!
I’m also in the process of creating my own guided meditation album which will be out soon. Please feel free to add yourself to my list to receive a free guided meditation as they become available and so much more to come soon! Be the first to know when you get on my list today!
(STEP 1) GET UP EARLY: They say the early bird gets the worm and they weren’t kidding! Take time to enjoy your morning before your hectic day starts. Rushing around and worrying about getting everything done BEFORE you get to work causes unneeded stress! Cortisol is produced when you are feeling anxious or stressed, which can be very unhealthy to the body. To read more on Cortisol http://cortisol.com/quick-tips-on-how-to-start-dealing–stress/ http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cortisol
( STEP 2) MEDITATE : I can’t emphasize how doing one thing, twice a day will change your life! Get still, go within, and the outcome of your life and the people around you will change for the better! It’s a scientific fact that doing Transcendental Meditation (TM) releases stress, anxiety, and helps you noticeably get more focused. TM also promotes better sleep and numerous other proven health benefits. You can check it out here http://www.tm.org/meditation-boston/
(STEP 3) START A DAILY JOURNAL: Write down your thoughts and activities twice a day. After your morning meditation set your intentions and write them down. Always end your day with journaling and write about how the day went, what you did, and how it made you feel. This is a digital journal you can try: https://penzu.com
(STEP 4) BE GRATEFUL TODAY: You must truly love where you are in the now and be thankful in the present moment for what you do have. More abundance will show up when you have gratitude for all things in your world.
(STEP 5) SET YOUR GOALS AND INTENTIONS FOR THE YEAR AHEAD AND GET AS CLEAR AS YOU CAN: Putting your thoughts and affirmations down on paper is the first step to achieving what you want out of life! Don’t procrastinate. Take action steps today for a brighter future and a more beautiful you!
(STEP 6) DID YOU MAKE A NEW YEARS RESOLUTION? There’s always something we can improve on. Working on our challenges and improving a skill or making the effort to change a bad habit will inevitably make you a happier, healthier person and more beautiful inside and out!
(STEP 7) EXERCISE : Release endorphins, be active, it creates a natural high! Anything you love can be your new exercise routine including; yoga, running, dancing or even a long walk. “Keep on moving” is the mantra of the ultra successful. Always remember the people around you mirror the way you feel and your actions. When you look and feel your best it’s always going to make you feel more beautiful!
(STEP 8) JUICING: Drink juice with fresh fruit and fresh leafy green vegetables like kale and spinach at least once a day. Get a juicer this year, it could be one of the best investments you make for your health. Studies have shown the average American diet consumes too many non-nutrient foods and harmful chemicals which are in most non-organic diets and the processed foods that we eat daily. Furthermore, juicing will strengthen your immune system and rid your body of the harmful toxins that lead to cancer and other auto immune diseases. Check out someone who could really show you what juicing did for him and others at: http://www.fatsickandnearlydead.com/
You will be amazed how your skin will glow and your insides will be feeling better too! Did I mention you can lose weight too? Now that’s beautiful!
(STEP 9) POSITIVITY: Think positive thoughts and keep a smile on your face even through the difficult moments. A smile can go a long way! It will also make you feel more beautiful inside and out. What you project on the outside is also contagious and that is beautiful!
( STEP 10) DAILY SKINCARE RITUAL: Wether your a teen dealing with acne or a 40 year old with concerns of anti-aging, it’s never too early or too late to get on a skincare program that works for your personal skin-type and concerns. Always start with a gentle cleanser, exfoliate, moisturize and protect with an SPF during the day. Never forget your eyes and always use an eye cream! The signs of aging will always show first around the eyes. Remember your eyes are the window to your soul, so pay close attention to them. Ladies always wash your makeup off at night before you go to sleep and repeat your skincare ritual minus the SPF at nighttime. Use an intensive night time cream while your skin is replenishing itself as you sleep. Your skin will look amazing when you wake up and that’s beautiful!
Since sleep and water are basic necessities of life, here’s a few important facts worth doing every day to be your most beautiful self.
DRINK ENOUGH WATER: The body needs proper hydration that only H2O can provide. Drink at least 80-100 ounces a day and your body and skin will thank you! Go here for all the reasons you should drink more water
SLEEP: Getting the proper amount of sleep every night will make you look and feel your very best throughout the day. The most beneficial hours of sleeping are between 11:00 pm and 3:00 am when your body is working hard to replenish the body and recover from the daily stresses and toxins we are all exposed to. Try to get at least 6-7 hours of sleep every night. If you feel tired because you didn’t get a good nights rest, trust me it shows on your face and that’s not beautiful!
